BOOKING DEPOSIT

A 50% deposit is required to reserve your charter date and time and is subject to the cancellation policy below.

WE CANCEL

If Ottawa Yacht Tours cancels your charter for any reason, including unsafe weather, mechanical issues, crew availability, or other operational reasons, you will receive either:

• A full refund; or
• A credit toward a future charter, at your option.

WEATHER POLICY

Weather conditions are assessed at the marina where Ottawa Yacht Tours operates, nowhere else.

Ottawa Yacht Tours reserves the sole right to determine whether weather conditions are suitable and safe for a tour. Light rain, intermittent showers, cloudy conditions, cooler temperatures, light wind, forecasted weather conditions, or weather forecasts alone do not automatically constitute grounds for cancellation.

If Ottawa Yacht Tours determines that a charter can safely operate, that determination is final for the purposes of this agreement, and a guest's decision not to attend will be treated as a guest cancellation.

GUEST CANCELLATION – WITHOUT TRIP PROTECTION

• 48 hours or more before departure: Full refund.
• Less than 48 hours before departure: No refund.

Guests may request to reschedule their charter. Rescheduling requests may be accommodated, subject to yacht availability and operational feasibility.

Ottawa Yacht Tours encourages guests to reschedule whenever possible, as rescheduling often provides the greatest flexibility and value for all parties.

GUEST CANCELLATION – WITH TRIP PROTECTION

Trip Protection allows cancellation for unforeseen circumstances beyond the guest's reasonable control that prevent attendance, including illness, injury, family emergencies, travel disruptions, vehicle breakdowns, and other unexpected events.

• 48 hours or more before departure: Full refund, less the cost of Trip Protection.
• Less than 48 hours before departure: Ottawa Yacht Tours may, in its sole discretion, provide a refund, credit, or rescheduled charter.

Where practical, Ottawa Yacht Tours will generally seek to reschedule the charter before considering other remedies.

Ottawa Yacht Tours reserves the right to request reasonable supporting documentation for claims made under Trip Protection.

Trip Protection does not apply where a guest simply changes their mind, chooses not to attend, or declines to participate in a charter that Ottawa Yacht Tours has determined can safely operate.

LATE ARRIVAL OR NO-SHOW

• No refund or credit.

Failure to arrive by the scheduled departure time will be treated as a no-show.

FOOD, BEVERAGE & SPECIAL ORDERS POLICY

Food, catering, beverages, and other special-order items are separate from the yacht charter and Trip Protection.

If a guest cancels a charter after Ottawa Yacht Tours has incurred costs on their behalf for food, beverages, or other special-order items, those costs remain payable by the guest.

If Ottawa Yacht Tours cancels a charter after costs have been incurred on behalf of a guest for food, beverages, or other special-order items, guests remain responsible only for those unrecoverable costs.

Costs incurred include amounts paid, committed, reserved, ordered, prepared, or otherwise payable by Ottawa Yacht Tours to suppliers on behalf of the guest.

Where items can be returned or reused, guests are responsible only for the unrecoverable portion of the cost incurred by Ottawa Yacht Tours.

PAYMENT AUTHORIZATION

By placing food, beverage, or special orders, guests authorize Ottawa Yacht Tours to charge the payment method on file for any unrecoverable costs incurred on their behalf under this policy.

Guests acknowledge that such charges may be processed following cancellation if unrecoverable costs have been incurred on their behalf.

FOOD PICKUP AFTER CANCELLATION

Where food has been prepared or cannot be cancelled, guests may arrange pickup of their food following cancellation.
